"I ride over my beautiful ranch. Between my legs is a beautiful horse. The air is wine. The grapes on a score of rolling hills are red with autumn flame. Across Sonoma Mountain, wisps of fog are stealing. The afternoon sun smolders in the drowsy sky. I have everything to make me glad I am alive."
-- Jack London
Jack London State Historic Park, near the village of Glen Ellen, California, has been a favorite destination for history buffs and horse lovers since Jack London first came to the Valley of the Moon 100 years ago.
Our horses are corralled among the eucalyptus trees London planted, and our trails go by and through historic sites built by the famous writer. Riders can see London's woodland lake, cross streams through towering redwood forests, and view San Pablo Bay and Mt. Diablo from a hilltop meadow.
The park offers picnic sites, hiking trails, a museum and historical buildings used by the author.
